President’s Report on Regional Stream Provincial Championships

On Friday April 20th to Sunday April 22nd, I attended the Regional Stream Provincial Championships, which were held in Swan River and hosted by the Swan Valley Cheetahs Gym Club. The three day event started with the Invitational Beginner Session and included gymnasts from the ages of 6 to 11 years old. On Saturday and Sunday, 7 sessions were held consisting of Pre-Provincial gymnasts, ages 12 to 16, Intermediate gymnasts, ages 10 to 13 plus, and finishing off the meet were the Advanced gymnasts, ages 9 to 14 plus.

In total 18 clubs were in attendance: Beausejour Elites, Brandon Eagles, Flinty’s, Grand Plains GymCats, Keystone Kips, St. Andrews, Neepawa Novas, GymKyds, Panthers, Prairie View Aerials, Selkirk Selects, Silhouettes, South Port Sapphires, Springers, Steinbach Flippers, Thompson Tumblers, Winnipeg Gym Center, and the host club Swan Valley Cheetahs. All those who competed have their names and scores posted on the MGA website.

Many hours went into the planning of this 3 day event and all involved did a phenomenal job in making certain that this meet did not disappoint.

On behalf of the MGA, I wish to thank the Swan Valley Gymnastics Club for hosting the Regional Stream Provincial Championships. Once again thank you to all the judges, coaches and dedicated volunteers for a job well done.
